Safe Water Honduras

Safe Water Honduras
SafeWater Plus Honduras

SafeWater Plus Honduras will bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to 16 communities in the western part of the country.  Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the world, and half of the population in the targeted area does not have access to safe water.

The project is being led by Steve Solbrack and the St. Louis Park Rotary Club with funding provided by Rotary District 5950, The Rotary Foundation and World Vision.  The total cost of the project is $800K, with $400K from Rotary and a $400K match from World Vision.  32 Rotary clubs have provided $117K of funds toward the project.

Three Rotarians from District 5950 traveled to Honduras in March 2013.  A group of fifteen people from District 5950 traveled to Honduras in late March 2014.  The group included eight Rotarians, four spouses and three teenage daughters.  World Vision has started work on the project in the community of Queroco.

If your club would like a presentation about the project contact Steve Solbrack at 612-578-8776 or steve@solbrack.com.
