This Week's Program:

NO LUNCH PROGRAM THIS WEEK.

HOWEVER, THOSE THAT ARE AVAILABLE WILL BE MEETING AT ROCK ELM TAVERN STARTING AT 5PM.

April 21, 2016 Meeting:
The meeting this week started with the invocation by James Williams.  Jason Cardwell then introduced our guests:  Mary and Chris Lower (prospective members) and Robb and Pam Hiller (Robb was our speaker).  Jason then had each guest pick a card game name - which no one won this week.   Fines were done by Ricardo Ortizcazarin (thank you Ricardo for filling in).  The answer to the riddles this week were: Birthdays, Fate and the letter "E".  As always, if you would like to see the actual riddles look at the bulletin from last week.

Our Speaker this week was Robb Hiller from Performance Solutions.  "Robb is the CEO of Performance Solutions Minnesota, Inc. He is a nationally known profit improvement consultant with expertise in the areas of scientific talent based solutions,  strategic selling and transformational leadership and coaching practices. Robb is a Certified Professional Behavior Analyst (CPBA, CPVA, CAIA), and also a Certified Professional in Trimetrix Job and Talent Benchmarking. He brings over 25 years of leadership and business building experience to his clients. An entrepreneurial executive with strong sales and marketing background, Robb improves his client's effectiveness and profits."

Some take away's from Robb's talk:

Know your talents;
Be who you are;
Unleash your talents and live a life of gratitude;
Shake it off and pick up your poop; and
Be a guide dog for others.

"Leadership is not a talent, it is an attitude"

Taste of the 'Burbs Event (May 19):

On Thursday, May 19, 2016, PRISM will host its biggest fundraising event of the year: our 3rd annual "Taste of the 'Burbs"!

This event generates significant revenue to support PRISM's food, housing and clothing assistance programs, which ensure that our most vulnerable, marginalized community members receive dignified, immediate and tangible help.
Join 300 civic leaders, friends and other PRISM supporters for an evening of:
  • delicious food and desserts from Nonna Rosa’s, Benihana, Frankie’s, Outtakes, Pickles, Culver’s, Nothing Bundt Cake, Milton's, D'Amico and Sons, The Lone Grazer and Red Tail Meat Company
  • silent and live auctions
  • live music
  • cash bar
  • a celebration of PRISM’s past
  • a look at PRISM’s future…and more!
This event sells out every year, so we’ve increased capacity for the 2016 event by approximately 100 seats by moving it to the recently remodeled Sheraton West in Minnetonka!
Limited VIP Table and Single Seat packages available..
Cost is $55 per ticket.

One in three women around the world will be victim of assault during her lifetime. In 2012, Angela Champagne-From experienced many women's worst nightmare of being attacked by a stranger.  She was attacked in a Minneapolis parking garage in the middle of the day and stabbed with a 10 inch knife, but fought back and lived to tell about it.  In her presentation, Angela will discuss the attack and play the tape of her 911 call.  She will tell about her recovery, the criminal process and important information about self protection and awareness.

This free presentation is for women of all ages and the men who care about them.

New Members:
Remember the membership contest - 1 point for bringing a perspective member to a meeting, 5 points if that person joins and 3 points if you get a person to join without coming to a meeting.  Steve Beachler has 12 points, Dwain Erickson, Jeff Wosje, and Don Weber have 5, Steve Juetten has 2 points and Glen Norton and Pat Knight have 1 point.

Plymouth Business Council:

In an effort to provide the greatest benefit for our members, TwinWest Chamber of Commerce is undertaking a reorganization of the Plymouth Business Council.  As such, the Plymouth Business Council will not meet again until September of 2016.  During the next few months, they will work with the leadership to ensure that members living and working in Plymouth realize the most benefit from the meetings possible.  To that end, be on the look-out for a short survey asking for feedback on meeting times, locations, and meeting agenda.  Input is essential to the process.

Later this Spring, an announcement of the new format will be made.  Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 14th which is when the Plymouth Business Council meetings will resume.  As always, please don’t hesitate to contact TwinWest staff or the Council Chair, Jeff Wosje with comments or questions.
