Meetings are Thursdays starting at Noon with room opening at 11:45 am

NOW LOCATED AT the Plymouth Community Center.
14800 34th Ave N, Plymouth, MN 55447

Club members: Please remember all of the great service and attention we have received from the Comfort Inn and their staff when recommending places to stay in town. Please also give them a good review as a way to thank them for hosting us so faithfully each week through the pandemic and making it a healthy environment for us that whole time we met there. A 5-star review on Google or choicehotels.com would be appreciated by them I am certain. We have asked them to become a corporate member and they are considering it.

We have a new member application from Christina Hallquist from IOCP to join us. A majority of the board digitally voted. The vote was to approve after the usual publication process. Of course if you want to read the Application or have any kind of objection, et a board member know right away if you see a conflict. (We can not imagine what it would be as we do not have anyone representing this sort of non-profit as a member now and they are a long standing Corporate member.)
This is the first weekly publication of Notice.

We also anticipate an application from Neha Markanda our soon to be Plymouth City Council Member.

Please welcome these new members to be as soon as you can. We obviously need them guiding our club into a growth mode with their unique wisdom.

PLEASE BRING A LITTLE EXTRA CASH TO BUY A RAFFLE TICKET
FROM OUR NEIGHBORING CLUB IN MAPLE GROVE THIS WEEK!blush
THEY WILL HAVE A BUNCH OF THEM TO SELL TO US AND A
REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CLUB TO TELL US ABOUT THAT.

FOOD!

James has found a caterer who will provide us with Box Lunches and also meals of other sorts when we are ready. We will discuss how we would bill for lunches again and have reliable lunches for us to extend hospitality to our speakers and guests. I just got news from the PCC contact that they just changed the rules and will allow us to have a caterer of our selection and not one of the big names on their list the way it was at the time we were doing Brewfest. Both of those topics need discussion and agreement of the club. We could possibly have lunches ready for us next week.

We also need to start a Brewfest Committee and get that KEG rolling again.

GOT A FAMILY MEMBER OR NEIGHBOR THAT TALKS TOO MUCH LIKE ME???
DO YOU KNOW A WORLD CLASS BLOVIATOR like Warren G. Harding??
Maybe you know a nicely nebulous nabob of negativity like the nefarious network neighbors of Spiro T. Agnew?
Do you know someone who can tell us if CBD had any part of Buzz Aldrin being known as "Buzz?" Or was that an AED?
Maybe you know someone who would like to read the notes of Paul IV from the Council of Trent to us.
How about someone who can tell us about overhauling a flat head Ford or a Softail Harley?
They may be just who we need!!! The guys below definitely are.
WE NEED MORE SPEAKERS NOW.

Please let us know if you know of a good speaker for our club.  We have the letter prepared to send to you in word format so all you need to do is address it and sign and send it to the speaker confirming the date. We also have thank you gifts in the form of our Rotary Luggage tags.

Thank you!

Please check your heart. Is it beating?
If it is you should be giving to the Rotary Club of Plymouth Foundation so that if it suddenly stops someday there will be someone who is trained and has the equipment available to get it started again.

Heart Safe Note:
Training Sessions
The training sessions below are set for 7-8:15 p.m. on the second floor of the Plymouth Public Safety Building, 3400 Plymouth Blvd. Class sizes are limited to 25 participants. To register, visit Eventbrite.

Thursday, October 27, 2022 Fire Station 3
Thursday, November 10, 2022 Medicine Lake Conference Room
Thursday, November 17, 2022 Council Chambers

Note that these fill up quickly so sign up soon and volunteer to hep as much as you can. It is preferable not to have to be the one on the floor needing the CPR. The only thing worse is if there is no one trained to do the CPR and still be there on the floor anyway.

So far we have trained 6981 people.

By being a member of Rotary you are a part of an organization that is constantly doing something good.

TALKING POINTS:

What is Rotary and WHY WOULD ANYONE CARE?
Rotary is a philanthropic organization that has a core group of committed volunteers in nearly every developed city in the world, who work to make their community a better place.
Here are 3 reasons for your friends to care:
  1. If you have moved here from somewhere else, and you join a local club, you can plan and do projects involving friends locally with those from anywhere you came from.
  2. Or for another example, when your local food shelf needs something, or someone, who can they ask and where do volunteers come from? Rotary Clubs supply money and volunteers for all sorts of our community charities.
  3. Rotary tries to measure everything with its four-way test. 1) Is it the truth? 2) Is it fair to all concerned? 3) Will it build good will and better friendships? 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? If something fails in any of those dimensions, it does not meet Rotary’s high-quality standards. We have been honored and welcomed to join.

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY
The Object of Rotary is to encourage
and foster the ideal of service as a
basis of worthy enterprise and, in
particular, to encourage and foster:
First The development of
acquaintance as an opportunity for
service;
Second High ethical standards
in business and professions, the
recognition of the worthiness
of all useful occupations, and
the dignifying of each Rotarian's
occupation as an opportunity to
serve society;
Third The application of the ideal of
service in each Rotarian's personal,
business, and community life;
Fourth The advancement of
international understanding,
goodwill, and peace through a
world fellowship of business and
professional persons united in the
ideal of service.

Our application and materials are in for Javier! We will know about our latest hurdle soon and that is when it is all funded! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to interact with the British Rotary Club, Javier as he goes through his latest level of higher education, and the district committee as they finalize the funding of the grant. Carol has led us through a difficult process to a great result. Many thanks to Carol.

If you are receiving this Bulletin and you are no longer a member, or never were a member, the reason it is coming to you is that we want you to consider becoming a member now. We want you in our club. If no one has personally said it recently, consider this your invitation to come as soon as you can. You are important to us.

Carol would like to build a schedule to deliver donated flowers to assisted living and nursing homes. Flowers are available Thursdays at 8:30 am at Trader Joe's, 11220 Wayzata Blvd. (Hopkins Crossroads and 394).  Email Carol Parrish  cjparrish1029@msn.com
