As the year comes to an end, our thoughts turn graciously to all of you who made our success possible this year.
Thank you for all of your support and donations. May the next year be a prosperous, joyous and 'service above self' year for all.

TALKING POINTS:

What is Rotary and WHY WOULD ANYONE CARE?
Rotary is a philanthropic organization that has a core group of committed volunteers in nearly every developed city in the world, who work to make their community a better place.
Here are 3 reasons for your friends to care:
  1. If you have moved here from somewhere else, and you join a local club, you can plan and do projects involving friends locally with those from anywhere you came from.
  2. Or for another example, when your local food shelf needs something, or someone, who can they ask and where do volunteers come from? Rotary Clubs supply money and volunteers for all sorts of our community charities.
  3. Rotary tries to measure everything with its four-way test. 1) Is it the truth? 2) Is it fair to all concerned? 3) Will it build good will and better friendships? 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? If something fails in any of those dimensions, it does not meet Rotary’s high-quality standards. We have been honored and welcomed to join.

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY
The Object of Rotary is to encourage
and foster the ideal of service as a
basis of worthy enterprise and, in
particular, to encourage and foster:
First The development of
acquaintance as an opportunity for
service;
Second High ethical standards
in business and professions, the
recognition of the worthiness
of all useful occupations, and
the dignifying of each Rotarian's
occupation as an opportunity to
serve society;
Third The application of the ideal of
service in each Rotarian's personal,
business, and community life;
Fourth The advancement of
international understanding,
goodwill, and peace through a
world fellowship of business and
professional persons united in the
ideal of service.
Heart Safe Notes:
We have now trained 7,000 people. That matters in the big picture because it is big!
We have donated AED devices.
We are making a difference in the world as a club and as members individually. Tell someone you know. It is not bragging to invite them to join in the opportunity we have to help people. What things do your friends do or want to do to help other people?

If you have a passion for a project like Heart Safe, Rotary should be your outlet too. It was started by your fellow club members and has grown up to be what you see now. What is your idea? join us and make it happen!!! We need hands to do this. So, participate please, please bring in potential new members to join us at any meeting. Get your friends mobilized for good projects.

Note:

This ClubRunner revision to our bulletin took another 3.5 hours (or more) after I discovered my last effort to make a simplifying template to reuse, was saved as a bulletin named "template" so I may have failed in both purposes. :(

I apologize that it has been so delayed in sending this out today. I believe sofdtware testers would have discovered this intreface imprecision had clubrunner used any. :|

I would have discovered it sooner maybe if I had another day to devote to Rotary's ClubRunner but I do not have any spare time now as I close my practice and search for a job with a paycheck. :)

We still really need a Club Secretary to work on minutes and help us over other hurdles like the ClubRunner crud. It would only take an hour or two per week depending upon the week. Please volunteer.

Carol has agreed to manage our speakers and this will make it better and easier for us to have meetings with stellar speakers.

Thanks to all,

Glen
