The following is from John Fay:
I hope this email finds you in good health.
The following is an update to our 2020 Orono Rotary District Grant application and a call out to join us for our Orono Rotary Party in the Park held at Maple Plain’s Veterans Memorial Park Saturday June 5th, 5-11PM.
The 2021 Orono Rotary / Maple Plain “Party in the Park” is slated for Saturday June 5, 2021, 5:00 – 11:00 PM at our newly renovated Veterans Memorial Park.
The event will be many things to more people. It’ll serve as host to the dedication of the “new” Veterans Memorial Park and our central Veterans memorial. We’ll be acknowledging our Veterans in numerous ways; patriotic music, VFW color guard, seventy “Flags for Heroes”, Memorial Day 2021 and D-Day (June 6th) and the reading of Veteran’s names.
We’ll also bring to a close the District Grant application file by acknowledging the six “Service” benches and the five Rotary clubs that took part in their purchase and installation. For this I am grateful as District Rotary has been patient and the project began nearly 14 months ago.
Orono Rotary’s Party in the Park was an exceptional event in 2018 and 2019. It served as a vital fundraiser for the construction of Veterans memorial at the park. $20,000 was raised and donated back to the City of Maple Plain for it’s construction. We’re very proud of that accomplishment and would like you to come out, enjoy the park and join us for a day of music, food and fun!
See you on the 5th
