WE NEED MORE SPEAKERS NOW.
Please let us know if you know of a good speaker for our club. We have the letter prepared to send to you in word format so all you need to do is address it and sign and send it to the speaker confirming the date. We also have thank you gifts in the form of our Rotary Luggage tags.
WE HAVE A NEW MEMBER Lee Ziesmer WHO SELLS INSURANCE. We have a new member Dave Durham from Neptune Cremation Society. Please welcome them by introducing yourself or if you do not see them at the meeting look them up and invite them each to coffee and get to know them. You might also come to the happy hour meetings when they do.
Be sure to participate in the mentor/mentee program now that it is in place.
Our next happy hour meeting will be 8/31/22 at Luce Line Brewing. Be there for fun.
Rotary Club of Plymouth Members,
Please take a moment to click on the link below that will take you to the new Club Facebook page!! Once on that page we encourage you to “Follow” the page and “Like” the page as well! (Just click on the appropriate spots on the page). Feel free to share this message with others that you know to increase the reach of Rotary Club of Plymouth information and also encourage new people to join the Club!
If you have any questions regarding the link or the page please contact Dave Kiser at 763-278-4169 or dkiser@ccxmedia.org.
Thank you!
Please check your heart. Is it beating?
If it is you should be giving to the Rotary Club of Plymouth Foundation so that if it suddenly stops someday there will be someone who is trained and has the equipment available to get it started again.
Heart Safe Note:
Heart safe is now on summer vacation.
TALKING POINTS:
What is Rotary and WHY WOULD ANYONE CARE?
Rotary is a philanthropic organization that has a core group of committed volunteers in nearly every developed city in the world, who work to make their community a better place.
Here are 3 reasons for your friends to care:
- If you have moved here from somewhere else, and you join a local club, you can plan and do projects involving friends locally with those from anywhere you came from.
- Or for another example, when your local food shelf needs something, or someone, who can they ask and where do volunteers come from? Rotary Clubs supply money and volunteers for all sorts of our community charities.
- Rotary tries to measure everything with its four-way test. 1) Is it the truth? 2) Is it fair to all concerned? 3) Will it build good will and better friendships? 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? If something fails in any of those dimensions, it does not meet Rotary’s high-quality standards. We have been honored and welcomed to join.
THE OBJECT OF ROTARY
The Object of Rotary is to encourage
and foster the ideal of service as a
basis of worthy enterprise and, in
particular, to encourage and foster:
First The development of
acquaintance as an opportunity for
service;
Second High ethical standards
in business and professions, the
recognition of the worthiness
of all useful occupations, and
the dignifying of each Rotarian's
occupation as an opportunity to
serve society;
Third The application of the ideal of
service in each Rotarian's personal,
business, and community life;
Fourth The advancement of
international understanding,
goodwill, and peace through a
world fellowship of business and
professional persons united in the
ideal of service.
Our application and materials are in for Javier! We will know about our latest hurdle soon and that is when it is all funded! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to interact with the British Rotary Club, Javier as he goes through his latest level of higher education, and the district committee as they finalize the funding of the grant. Carol has led us through a difficult process to a great result. Many thanks to Carol.
If you are receiving this Bulletin and you are no longer a member, or never were a member, the reason it is coming to you is that we want you to consider becoming a member now. We want you in our club. If no one has personally said it recently, consider this your invitation to come as soon as you can. You are important to us.
