HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

This Week's Program:

This week we will hear from Andy Swada from Tree House.  The Club has provided a number of grants to Tree House.

The vision of TreeHouse is to reach every at-risk teen so they are loved, feel hope and realize life transformation. To accomplish this vision we seek to fulfill our mission to bring living hope to hurting youth and families leading to life transformation.

TreeHouse staff are grounded in the core values of G.R.A.C.E. which determine how we conduct ourselves in the relationships we share with donors, fellow staff and our teens.

NOTE on Programs:  I realize that we have had a number of non-profits speak recently and will again next week.  I do apologize for this.  At this point, April will not include any non-profits.  Thank you for your understanding.

March 10, 2016 Meeting;

The meeting was started with an invocation by Bob Wittman.  We had five guests this week, Clemencia Rasquinha (Clem submitted a corporate member application), Gregg Elliott, MTKA/Excelsoir Rotarian, (selling roses - more below on Rose pickup),  Tom Meade (Tiny Tim and Friends, grant recipient), Janet Cobus (Can-Do-Canines, grant recipient), and our Speaker, Doug Nathan.  John Schoonover had three names pulled from the pail and no one won the card game this week so the game goes on.  The fine master this week was Dave Olson.

Riddle answers were: 1) a daisy; 2) three, the doorman lets in those who answer with the number of letters in the word the doorman says.; and 3) a key.  Like always, if you want to read the actual riddle, go to the website and read last week's bulletin.

After the announcements, Nick Clementi was awarded a Paul Harris Pin for his contribution to Rotary International.

Next Steve Bleacher presented $2,000 grant checks to Janet Cobus, Can-Do-Canies and Tom Meade, Tiny Tim and Friends.

Our Speaker this week was Doug Nathan from Headwaters Relief.  Headwaters Relief Organization is a disaster relief collaboration of volunteers  that supports the emotional and housing needs of families and communities ravaged by disaster.  Since the organization’s inception, Headwaters Relief volunteers have provided disaster relief throughout the United States and around the world including the Philippines, Haiti, Atlantic City, Boulder County, Colorado, and many other areas affected by disaster.  Headwaters Relief’s mission is to react with agility and compassion when disasters strike. Our volunteers include a wide range of people from social workers to plumbers.
