Here is a letter from Mayor Wosje that he says we should revise and send to our corporate sponsors: Note that the Rotary International plan is to ship by the end of the month. This means we must act fast to gather the sponsors who can raise $200,000.00 to buy the truck. We attended the City Council Meeting on Tuesday and the council was receptive but they have a fiduciary duty to the Citizens of Plymouth not to just give away a $200,000.00 asset for nothing in money to use in the replacement fund. Note the $40,000.00 reduction in estimated value. It seems to be an effort to help us get the necessary funds.
Jeff Says:
HERE IS EMAIL I AM SENDING TO BUSINESSES I KNOW, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE WITH ANY BUSINESS YOU KNOW. Also, I know i didn't get this to full membership so please forward to anyone you think can help!
______, the Plymouth Rotary Foundation is trying to raise money to purchase this truck from the City and donate to Ukraine. Rotary International has provided a $100,000 grant to pay for the transportation of 10 fire trucks to Ukraine. This truck is scheduled to be retired at the end of the month and put out for bids. It's estimated value is $220,000 to $240,000. I am approaching a number of companies asking for $10,000 donations towards this effort. Let me know if your company is able to help provide this much needed fire truck to Ukraine, thanks!

BAD NEWS!
FIRE AND ICEHAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO BAD ICE.
This also means we may not need our Hook Line and Sinker party or we could just have it a more hospitable venue and just drink beer. Please let us know your opinion on this and we will decide what to do about it at the meeting. We will have some cancellation fees at the rent shop unless I can talk them out of it. we could still have a good time drinking at Luce Line Brewing or Rock Elm, but we probably should not start before noon.
Heart safe has now trained at least 7000 people. The new year's training schedule filled within 48 hours! This is success.
Here are the dates for the upcoming classes which run from 7:00pm to 8:15pm:
Anybody interested in being trained in Bystander CPR and AED use is encouraged to attend. Learn how to save the life of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) victim.
The one-hour and 15 minute training sessions are open to teenagers and adults who are interested in learning to help save lives. Participants can learn hands-only CPR, which teaches chest compressions without mouth-to-mouth breaths, as well as the use of an AED.
We limit class size to 25; registrations are required.
By being a member of Rotary you are a part of an organization that is constantly doing something good.
TALKING POINTS:
What is Rotary and WHY WOULD ANYONE CARE?
Rotary is a philanthropic organization that has a core group of committed volunteers in nearly every developed city in the world, who work to make their community a better place.
Here are 3 reasons for your friends to care:
If you have moved here from somewhere else, and you join a local club, you can plan and do projects involving friends locally with those from anywhere you came from.
Or for another example, when your local food shelf needs something, or someone, who can they ask and where do volunteers come from? Rotary Clubs supply money and volunteers for all sorts of our community charities.
Rotary tries to measure everything with its four-way test. 1) Is it the truth? 2) Is it fair to all concerned? 3) Will it build good will and better friendships? 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? If something fails in any of those dimensions, it does not meet Rotary’s high-quality standards. We have been honored and welcomed to join.
THE OBJECT OF ROTARY
The Object of Rotary is to encourage
and foster the ideal of service as a
basis of worthy enterprise and, in
particular, to encourage and foster:
First The development of
acquaintance as an opportunity for
service;
Second High ethical standards
in business and professions, the
recognition of the worthiness
of all useful occupations, and
the dignifying of each Rotarian's
occupation as an opportunity to
serve society;
Third The application of the ideal of
service in each Rotarian's personal,
business, and community life;
Fourth The advancement of
international understanding,
goodwill, and peace through a
world fellowship of business and
professional persons united in the
ideal of service.
If you are receiving this Bulletin and you are no longer a member, or never were a member, the reason it is coming to you is that we want you to consider becoming a member now. We want you in our club. If no one has personally said it recently, consider this your invitation to come as soon as you can. You are important to us.
