The Sun Sailor Article:

Sun Sailor Thursday January 19, 2023 Excerpted above
We should all write letters to our Plymouth City Council members like this to move this donation forward.
Our member Henry Wang did some on line research and discovered that comparable fire trucks are likley to sell at auction. A comparable truck is expected to sell for around $6,000.00 on the auction market.

Member Lee Zeissmer is also a member of the Lyons Club. They are willing to donate $10,000 for the project.

Mayor Jeff, also a member of our club, has gotten Banner Engineering to pledge $10,000.00 to the project as well.

We could wait until the City retires the smaller truck which is not as valuable, but that may be six months out.

From Chris Manson who represents to charity Rotary International is partnering with to send the fire trucks:

Hi all. I just got back from Ukraine and just wanted to check in. As far as I know the Plymouth truck donation is not moving forward. Is that correct or has anything changed?

As I mentioned before I'd love to have the truck but I do not want anyone trying to raise $100k to buy a fire truck. Just is not worth it and that isn't how we have done things in the past. It's all about finding truly surplus vehicles.

Anyway I thought I'd just check in.

Chris

FINALLY, OTHER CLUB BUSINESS:

As of the board meeting last week on 2/2/23 we had Neha Markanda's completed Application for Membership.

The board voted to admit her as well as Bruce Warren as members. The Board voted to approve Carol's Speaker plan which is based upon our old tradition of dividing into teams each responsible for a quarter. A member of that speaker team will also be giving the introduction of the speaker as well as the invocation during their quarter of service to the club.

The Board also voted to drop the $25.00 service fee for buying lunch on a pay-as-you-go basis. THe price of the lunches ordered will increase some to cover lunches for speakers. The pay as you go lunches may be more expensive that regular standing order lunches as well.

DON"T FORGET HAPPY HOUR TODAY AT LUCE LINE STARTS AT 5:00.
