“Frank G. Jewett III Memorial Scholarship”
The “Frank G. Jewett III Memorial Scholarship” is weighted heavily on student’s volunteerism. The Rotary Club of Plymouth will be providing one (1) non-renewable $3,000 scholarship during 2019 - 2020 for use in the school year 2020 - 2021. Students will be selected from the same pool of students for the Rotary Club of Plymouth Scholarship. However, this scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates a high level of volunteerism. Applicants will be required to complete all details needed for The Rotary Club of Plymouth Scholarship application online. Below is a review of the Rotary of Plymouth Scholarship application criteria.
Criteria for students:
  • Seniors who (1) attend a public or private high school located in the City of Plymouth or (2) re home schooled and are residents of the City of Plymouth (3) are residents of the City of Plymouth but attend a public or private school in a different city
  • Must be a senior in high school graduating 2020.
  • The applicant must plan on attending a two or a four-year vocational/technical school, college with a full-time enrollment status. Male or female students, any race or religion/U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident.
  • 3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher (or the equivalent if the school is not on a 4.0 grading system) or evidence of similar academic achievement if the applicant is home schooled.
  • Must NOT be a direct descendant of an active Rotarian
  • Work experience (must have held some type of part-time job; could be babysitting, lawn care, retail, restaurant, etc)
  • Demonstrated financial need for full-time enrollment

  1. Provide official transcripts for your junior and senior years.
  1. Provide two personal references that we could contact (i.e., teacher, guidance counselor, pastor, rabbi, employer, etc.)
Important dates:
  • Scholarship application open date: January 15th, 2020
  • Scholarship Close date: March 6th, 2020 midnight
  • Final candidates MUST be available for a final “in person” interview on March 16th, 2020 which will be held from 6-8pm. No exceptions. (Place to follow).

Apply on the Dollars for Scholars Website: to create an ONLINE profile. Go to the Student/parent tab. Follow instructions to apply ONLINE ONLY.
The winner and their parents/guardians are invited to a Friday lunch meeting at the Rotary Club of Plymouth to be recognized on April 16th, 2020 (details to follow). Disbursement of funds will happen after student submits their first semester’s grades. Student must show a G.P.A. of 3.0 or above.
